Positive Image by local artist Zoe Martin is a community art installation on body image and the power of positive thought. Perplexed at how women in particular denigrate their own self image, Zoe has dedicated a female mannequin to be written on by the general public. Only positive affirmations and comments pertaining to things which people like about their bodies is an act designed to perpetuate self acceptance and love. A life model and positive body image advocate, lover of street art, body art and tattooing, Zoe’s own experiences in self love motivate her creativity. Unafraid to talk about difficult issues and encourage healing and acceptance through conversation and art, Zoe’s love of writing and reflecting greatly inspire her art practice and this work.

Question your own body image… what DO you like about your body?
Acknowledge what comes up… likely to be what you also don’t like about your body.
Think about what you don’t like about your body. How harsh are you on yourself?
Be nicer to yourself! How can you not compare yourself to others?
